FAQ
-
Intense Exfoliation: Avoid using harsh exfoliating products (like physical scrubs or strong chemical exfoliants) at least 3-5 days before your facial to prevent irritation or sensitivity during your treatment.
Retinol/Retinoids: Discontinue the use of retinol or retinoid products at least 5 days prior to your facial, as these can make your skin more sensitive to treatments and increase the risk of irritation.
Sun Exposure: Try to avoid direct sun exposure for 24-48 hours before your appointment. If you have a recent sunburn, it’s best to reschedule.
Waxing/Shaving: Avoid waxing or shaving your face within 24-48 hours of your facial, as this can leave your skin too sensitive for treatment.
Invasive Skin Treatments: If you’ve had any invasive procedures like chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments, wait at least 2-4 weeks before booking a facial.

Most treatments will require you to disrobe to your comfort level, including removing jewelry. Your esthetician will primarily work on your face, neck, shoulders, décolleté, hands, arms, and sometimes your scalp. Access to these areas ensures the best possible treatment. You will be adequately draped with sheets and blankets throughout the entire session to ensure your safety and comfort. If you prefer to keep clothing or jewelry on, we will work around them to provide the best service possible.
-
Sun Exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 24 hours after your facial. If you need to go outside, make sure to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to protect your skin.
Heavy Exercise/Hot Environments: Refrain from intense physical activity, hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms for 24-48 hours to prevent skin irritation or excess sweating.
Makeup: Try to avoid applying makeup immediately after your facial to allow your skin to breathe and fully absorb the benefits of your treatment.
Exfoliation or Harsh Products: Do not use exfoliating products, retinol, or other active ingredients (such as acids) for at least 48 hours to give your skin time to recover and avoid irritation.
Touching Your Face: Avoid touching your face, as this can transfer bacteria and dirt to your freshly treated skin, leading to potential breakouts or irritation.

Yes! Facials can be safe during pregnancy and nursing, but certain treatments may not be recommended. We advise letting your esthetician know if you are pregnant or nursing so they can customize your facial and avoid any products or treatments that might not be suitable. For example, certain high-strength ingredients like retinoids or strong chemical peels may be avoided. Rest assured, your comfort and safety are our top priorities!
